Manifesto for Treasurer of HWUMSA
I am honored to present my candidate for the position of Treasurer of HWUMSA. As a dedicated member of this student association, I understand the importance of financial transparency, efficiency, and effective budgeting to ensure the smooth operation and success of our activities. My goal is to manage our association’s finances responsibly while ensuring that all students have a voice in financial decisions.
My Vision and Objectives
Enhancing and Improving the Efficiency of the Claiming Process
I will simplify and streamline the reimbursement process, ensuring that claims are processed quickly and accurately. Implementing a clear and structured guideline for claim submissions to avoid delays and confusion. Introducing digital tracking methods for students to check the status of their claims in real time.
Effective and Accurate Budgeting and Financial Planning
Developing a well-planned budget that maximizes HWUMSA’s financial resources for the benefit of all students. Ensuring transparency in financial decisions by providing regular budget updates. Prioritizing essential expenses while allocating funds wisely to support events, activities, and student initiatives.
Representing the Interests of All Students
I will actively seek feedback from students on budget allocations to ensure that funds are distributed fairly. Working closely with the HWUMSA committee to ensure financial decisions align with the association’s goals and vision. Establishing an open-door policy where students can discuss financial concerns and suggestions freely.

I will uphold responsibility and accountability by ensuring every ringgit spent contributes to HWUMSA’s growth. I will maintain transparency through regular financial updates and open communication with students. Additionally, I will bring innovation and efficiency to financial processes by utilizing technology and best practices to make them more effective and accessible for everyone. My focus will be on building a financially sound and student-centered environment.
What motivated me to nominate myself?
As treasurer, I aim to enhance financial efficiency by streamlining the claiming process, ensure effective budget management to maximize the impact of student activities, and maintain accountability and transparency through clear financial reports. I will advocate for fair budget distribution that supports diverse student needs while also fostering my personal and professional growth in financial management, leadership, and decision-making. My goal is to create a financially responsible and student-centered environment that benefits everyone.
My top three priorities
1. Budget Optimization and Allocation:
Ensure the student funds are being utilized effectively by allocating resources to areas that will directly benefit students, such as extracurricular activities, student services, and event funding. Create a transparent budgeting process and ensure that all financial decisions are made in a way that prioritizes student interests.
2. Financial Transparency and Communication:
Regularly update the student body on the financial status of the organization or school through easy-to-understand reports or presentations. Promote financial literacy by hosting workshops or distributing resources that help students understand budgeting, saving, and investing.
3. Fundraising and Financial Growth:
Implement strategies to raise funds for the student body through creative fundraising efforts, sponsorships, or partnerships with local businesses.Focus on long-term financial health by building an emergency fund or creating scholarships for students in need.
What would I bring to the role?
As treasurer, I would bring strong financial stewardship, ensuring responsible budgeting, transparent communication, and trust-building with the student body. I would prioritize efficient allocation of funds, explore fundraising opportunities, and promote financial literacy, all while working to create a sustainable financial future for student initiatives. My goal is to use resources wisely to enhance student experiences and ensure their voices are reflected in every financial decision.
